The general aim of our work is the synthesis, reactivity and the study of physical properties of coordination and organometallic compounds of transition metals, in particular those with biological or nanotechnological interest.
Our main objectives are:
Synthesis of new molecules
Characterization of the new molecules
Reactivity studies: how these new molecules behave, their potential applications.
Development of new organic ligands to build new molecules with metals. Introduction of chirality.
Some concrete targets are:
Applications in functionalization of biomolecules (bioconjugation): peptides, proteins, nucleobases, etc.
Development of new nanosized species for anchoring the metals. Applications in the separation of nanotubes.
Use of organometallic complexes in the preparation of nanoparticles with special properties.
